How to Play a DVD with VLC Media Player on Windows 11

What you need: A Windows 11 computer with a DVD drive (built in or connected by USB), VLC media player installed, and a DVD movie.

1. Click the Start button (the Windows logo) on the taskbar at the bottom of the screen.
2. Type VLC media player.
3. Click VLC media player in the search results to open it.
4. Insert the DVD into the DVD drive and close the tray.
5. In VLC, click Media in the upper-left corner.
6. Click Open Disc.
7. Under Disc Selection, make sure DVD is selected.
8. Click Play.
9. If the DVD's menu appears, click Play or Play Movie on that menu.

Expected result: The DVD movie plays in VLC media player.
